THE ANDREWS SISTERS  (LaVerne 1911-1967; Maxine 1916-1995; Patty 1918-2013)  The Andrews Sisters were a prolific and hugely successful close-harmony singing group, made up of three actual sisters.  In 1937 they had a hit for Decca Records with BEI MIR BIST DU SCHON.  During World War II the Andrews Sisters entertained the U.S. troups extensively.  Their greatest hit may have been "Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy" in 1941, an early example of "jump blues."
