Frank Chacksfield (1914-1995) was an English composer, arranger and conductor of easy listening light orchestral music, very popular during the 1950s,'60s and '70s, both in England and internationally.Having learned to play the piano from age 7, he began appearing at music festivals in his early teens, leading his own small dance band in the 1930s.After World War Two, Frank Chacksfield commenced working as an arranger and conductor for BBC Radio, finally recording under his own name in 1951, signing a large recording contract in 1953. Chacksfield continued to be featured in radio programs throughout the 1960s and '70s, and composed music, releasing albums until the 1990s.
