Perez Prado (1916-1989) was a Cuban bandleader, musician and composer.  He became known as "King of the Mambo".   His cha-cha version of "Cherry Pink and Apple Blossom White" was #1 in America in 1955 (and is on the Mambo Magic and Mambo Mania albums below).  His music has been part of many American and Spanish-language movies.  His son, Perez Prado, Jr., continues to direct the Perez Prado Orchestra in Mexico City.
